Looking up to all the professional ballerinas every day and being mesmerised by their every step definitely made me realise I wanted to become a professional too.

Do you remember a moment when you decided or realised that you wanted to be a professional dancer?
When I was 11, I was lucky enough to dance the role of young Clara in the Australian Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker. Looking up to all the professional ballerinas every day and being mesmerised by their every step definitely made me realise I wanted to become a professional too.

Describe something about your dancing that has changed since joining Scottish Ballet. What caused this change?
Since joining Scottish Ballet the main thing that has changed about my dancing is realising how important the story behind each role is. I’ve learnt that the ability to deliver the steps fully only comes once you really know your role, as the character that drives it.

Are there any dancers or artists that inspire you?
One of my current inspirations is Marianela Núñez. Someone who inspires me every single day is former Scottish Ballet Principal Sophie Martin. Not only is she insanely talented but is also a great person inside and out of the studio.

What are a few words that would describe your personality in the studio?
Always laughing and messing around. I like to keep the atmosphere light and fun.

What has been a highlight of your time with Scottish Ballet?
Performing Gretel in Christopher Hampson’s Hansel & Gretel, and learning the role of Cinderella, which I got to perform during our 2018/19 winter tour.

What’s your favourite thing about Scotland?
The scenery! It’s so easy to escape to the Highlands and enjoy the beautiful landscape.

Cinderella, Press & Journal, January 2019

‘Often threatening to steal the show. Tarantolo in particular has the timing of a born comic. ’
Cinderella, All Edinburgh Theatre, December 2018
