Giles is currently working as a consultant to the UK Government in Westminster/Whitehall responsible for strategic communications regarding the many facets of the current crisis, and the UK’s long-term response to it.
His previous role was as Chief Executive Officer for the international advertising agency M&C Saatchi (London) from June 2017 to December 2019; having spent 22 years in various strategy and management roles in advertising agencies in the UK and globally.
Prior to this he was Chief Strategy Officer at FCB Inferno after spending nearly 8 years with the Leo Burnett organisation, where he held the title of Global Chief Strategy Officer. He formerly worked in planning roles at such agencies as JWT and MCBD (now known as Dare).
An Oxford Modern Languages graduate with a diploma in International Business from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, Giles has helped to build many of the world’s biggest brands, at some of the world’s most famous creative agencies, including J. Walter Thompson, Leo Burnett, and Foote Cone & Belding.
Giles served for five years on the board of the Institute for Practitioners in Advertising, and for two years on the European Advisory Board of The Ehrenberg Bass Institute - the world’s leading marketing science body. He is also a member of the Google Creative Council in the UK and visiting lecturer at the London School of Economics.
