A student of Solange Golovine, Dany Leveque in 1990 obtained her choreography diploma from the Benesh Institute in London. In December 1991 (after having worked with Jean-Christophe Maillot), she obtained an offstage Villa Medicis grant in New York for a study on the links between video and notation. She was then selected to deliver lessons at the University of Paris VIII and the University of Nice. Since 1992 she has been a choreographer and assistant to Angelin Preljocaj, for whom she conducted the notation for the majority of his creations; she also revived certain works, in particular for the London Contemporary Dance Theatre, the Opera de Paris, the Staatsoper in Berlin and the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. From 2006 to 2008, she designated choreography routines, notably those in the project of the D.A.N.C.E. training project. She also choreographed several works between 2000 and 2005.
