Catherine Simpson

Scottish Ballet Endowment Fund Trustee

Catherine was a co-founder of Scottish Equity Partners (SEP), one of the UK’s leading technology-focused growth equity firms.  In 2023 she stepped back from her role as Chief Operating Officer where she had overall responsibility for management of SEP’s operational functions including finance, administration and marketing.

After studying at Aberdeen University, Catherine started her career as a corporate lawyer with Maclay Murray & Spens (now Dentons) and then moved into structured finance with Bank of Scotland before joining the direct investment arm of Scottish Enterprise and establishing SEP with colleagues in 2000.

Catherine currently sits on the Management Board of Winning Scotland and was previously Deputy Chair of the Stirling Children’s Panel.  She joined the Board of Trustees of the Scottish Ballet Endowment Fund in 2020.
