The Junior Associate course of study includes ballet, body conditioning, character and creative movement.

During the year students have the opportunity to learn some of Scottish Ballet’s repertoire taught by Company dancers. They will also have the chance to audition for Scottish Ballet’s Christmas production Cinders!, and will experience the work of other departments involved in each production.

Although no previous dance experience is necessary, potential students need to show an aptitude for movement, co-ordination, a sense of rhythm and lots of personality together with the physical aptitude to safely undertake rigorous training without risking injury.

Weekly classes for students living within travelling distance of Glasgow are held on Tuesdays (P6), Wednesdays (P5) and Thursdays (P7) from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

Sunday classes for students who are unable to travel to Glasgow on a weekly basis are run approximately once a month during term time from 10am to 3pm.

Annual auditions take place in May each year at Scottish Ballet studios, Glasgow.
