‘"It gave a real sense of connection to what was happening on stage."’

Upon booking an audio described performance you with receive a CD containing a brief synopsis of the ballet and detailed descriptions of the characters, costumes and set before attending the show.

On the day of the performance, you will join a touch tour which offers visually impaired patrons the opportunity to get up close to a selection of costumes and props. This allows them to build familiarity with the performance before it begins.

Visually impaired audience members are provided with headsets, allowing them to hear commentary given live by a member of the Scottish Ballet team. As the curtain rises, the audio description begins, describing every step the dancers take on stage and helping to bring the magic to life.

All the theatres we tour to offer headsets or loop systems to enhance the sound of the live orchestra. Please ask venue staff for more details when you book as you may find that the equipment works better in certain seating areas.

Cast lists and programme articles are also available in braille or large print on request. Please contact Lorna Murray on 0141 331 6285 or email
