A performance of four works celebrating intergenerational dance
Generation Dance Festival comprises four works (two world premieres) performed by dancers across generations from throughout Scotland.
This diverse programme of work is a Glasgow exclusive and forms part of the Glasgow 2018 European Championships Cultural Festival.
- Generation Performance Dance Company performs Letters to My Shadow choreographed by Anna Kenrick, directed by Philippa Clark and costume design by Kenny Miller
What is the letter you always wanted to write? This idea has been the catalyst for this poignant, humorous and uplifting work. With a cast of over 50 dancers from all over Scotland spanning ages 14 to 80+, Letters to my Shadow explores how we reflect upon our relationship with others through the act of writing letters.
- Scottish Ballet Elders Company performs Faith choreographed by Lewis Normand
- National Youth Dance Company of Scotland performs Di-ver-gent choreographed by Anna Kenrick
- Dancers from Turin and Nuremberg perform a new work choreographed by Ewan Hambleton, former Scottish Ballet Associate choreographer in Scottish Ballet's 2017 SB Creates programme
