SB Elevate®

Our programme for people living with Multiple Sclerosis

Scottish Ballet’s dance programme, SB Elevate®, aims to support the physical, mental and social wellbeing of people living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

This programme, which is the first of its kind in the UK, was developed in partnership with MS specialists, University of Florida, Georgetown University, MS Society Scotland and MS Revive.

As a total non-dancer, Elevate® has opened my mind and confidence to enjoy dancing. I feel that my body is responding so well to the different moves and my brain is challenged to embrace the instruction.

How do classes help?

Research has shown that these classes can reduce fatigue and improve balance and walking. For more information visit: Dance Health Research

What can I expect?

The classes are a fun chance for you to explore your creativity, expression, musicality, fluidity, balance and posture.

Our highly experienced dance health team will support you, and you are welcome to bring a friend, partner or carer to join in too.

New participants are always welcome to join at any point during the term and can take part seated or standing.

As with all Scottish Ballet Health programmes, classes include social time after the session to connect with others with lived experience of MS, and to build friendships and a community of support.

How can I join in?

Choose between weekly in-person classes, monthly online classes, on demand and (from the end of October 2023) weekly hybrid online/in-person classes.

In-person classes are held at Scottish Ballet HQ in Glasgow, Just Dance in Orkney and at Perth Theatre.

Online classes are held on Zoom. For this you will need a computer or mobile device that can access the internet. You will be emailed the link to follow to access the session before each class.

Monthly SB Elevate® online classes

These fun, monthly classes draw on current Scottish Ballet repertoire.
