This summer we are thrilled to be bringing together young people from Scotland and Italy to create new dance works.

We are working with three Italian partners: EgriBiancoDanza, Balletto Teatro di Torino, and Piemonte dal Vivo, on this year's Youth Exchange. In July, we welcomed 12 dancers aged between 14 and 23, who  came over from Turin to collaborate with a group of young Scottish dancers and create a series of new work.

As well as spending time together outside the studio and some sightseeing around Glasgow, the young dancers collaborated on several works to be performed together at the TorinoDanza Festival in October, including a new commission from Scottish Ballet's artist in residence, choreographer Sophie Laplane.

The Youth Exchange is supported by Glasgow and Turin's Twinning Offices and the Castansa Trust, alongside core support from the Scottish Government.
