OPPORTUNITY: Writer in Residence

Scottish Ballet is delighted to be partnering with The Work Room, to offer a residency for a creative writer to reflect on the practices of both dance organisations based in Glasgow’s Tramway.

Taking place over a three-month period between February – June 2020, the paid opportunity has been made possible through the Scottish Graduate School for Arts & Humanities and will allow a PhD researcher to respond to the work taking place in each company.

A collaboration that will enable researchers to develop creative writing in response to dance and choreography, the writer in residence will have the opportunity to observe choreographers and dance artists during creation and rehearsal periods, as well as have conversations with the artists and other creatives about their work.

As organisations who work across multiple art forms, Scottish Ballet and The Work Room welcome the artist in resident’s written work to be produced across any form – e.g prose, poetry, essays, spoken word, etc.

Deadline for applications: Monday 16 September
