Leaving a trail of crumbs across Scotland...

This year we will take our specially adapted version of a big ballet, Wee Hansel & Gretel, on a nationwide tour to Isle of Lewis, Ullapool, Glasgow, Shetland, Orkney, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Greenock, Inverness, and Dundee.

To make this possible, we are delighted to continue our partnership with Loganair as Official Airline Sponsor for this tour of Wee Hansel & Gretel.

Audiences will join Hansel & Gretel as they go on an adventure deep into the woods… Along the way they’ll meet a beguiling Witch and her mysterious raven, before arriving in an enchanted gingerbread house filled with dancing sweet treats and toys that come to life. This specially adapted 50-minute show is the perfect way for young children aged 3–8 years and their families to discover the magic of ballet.

Originally choreographed by CEO/Artistic Director Christopher Hampson in 2013, dancers from Scottish Ballet will perform in this well-known fairytale alongside talented students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s BA in Modern Ballet.

‘This ballet is close to my heart, so I am delighted to share this specially adapted show with young children across Scotland. It is full of dancing and storytelling, plucky characters and a happy ending – perfect for experiencing the magic of live performance.’

Christopher Hampson, CEO/Artistic Director

‘Our partnership with Scottish Ballet on their Highland Fling tour last year was an undoubted success, and this latest sponsorship further emphasises Loganair’s commitment to supporting the local communities we serve in the Highlands and Islands by helping to deliver thrilling live performances from Scotland's national dance company.’
