We're delighted to announce that we are nominated for our NHS Health at Hand work, as one of 24 organisations in this year's showcase

The Achates Regional Showcase has been selected from a long list of 121 nominations, researched and developed by Achates Philanthropy Prize Ambassadors. The Regional Showcase offers a unique snapshot of the inspiring ways in which cultural organisations have worked with their communities and how their communities have responded to this work during an extraordinary year.

Scottish Ballet, one of only three Scottish organisations selected, has been nominated for the continued work with NHS Scotland, specifically the creation of our Health at Hand series. This series contains bespoke movement and breath videos to support physical and mental health for people working in the NHS and Social Care services.

Launched at the start of May, the programme includes short 10-minute videos entitled Energise, Rejuvenate and Relax, alongside longer 20-minute Restore sessions which offer support after periods of physical and emotional trauma.

Health at Hand has been viewed over 12,000 times over the last four months with many NHS and Social Care staff returning regularly to use the resources. It has also become accessible through the NHS Wellbeing Champions across Scotland and its related Wellbeing Hub platform as well as on the Scottish Government’s Clear your Head website.

‘We are delighted to be nominated for the 2020 Achates Philanthropy Prize, alongside inspiring colleagues and companies from across the creative industries. At Scottish Ballet, we are dedicated to using our experience to connect with communities; having used our knowledge from the dance health field to create the SB Health at Hand resources to help alleviate the physical and mental stress of staff working across the NHS and Social Care system at this time.’
