Highland Fling is ready for take off!

Loganair, Scotland's airline, will be official partners of our upcoming tour of Matthew Bourne’s Highland Fling as Official Airline Sponsors for 2018/19.

Loganair, the only airline based and owned in Scotland, will be supporting us by flying Scottish Ballet dancers and touring team across Shetland, Orkney and Lewis with specially chartered flights throughout April and May 2018.

This is the first time Scottish Ballet will tour a full-scale production to such remote locations and the commercial support of Loganair ensures performances of this romantic wee ballet can be enjoyed by local communities across Scotland.

Matthew Bourne's Highland Fling will tour to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Shetland, Orkney, Oban and Stornoway in April / May 2018.

‘This sponsorship of Scottish Ballet in 2018 very much affirms Loganair's position as Scotland's national airline, emphasising our commitment to support the local communities we serve by helping to deliver thrilling live performances from Scotland's national dance company.’

Kay Ryan, Commercial Director, Loganair

‘We are thrilled to be partnering with Loganair for our Spring 2018 season. Touring a complex full-length work to remote locations is both challenging and costly. Our partnership with Loganair will not only help us fulfil our vision of bringing ballet to remote locations but will also enable us to create new works, tour more shows and create additional educational projects.'

Christopher Hampson, CEO/Artistic Director

Affectionately known as a romantic wee ballet, Highland Fling was originally produced in 1994 by Olivier Award-winner Matthew Bourne. Presented exclusively by Scottish Ballet, Matthew Bourne’s Highland Fling is a wonderfully imaginative re-working of the classic romantic ballet La Sylphide with a wickedly wry Scots twist and hilarity mixed with classical ballet. In addition, Scottish Ballet is the only company to be given the rights to recreate any of Matthew Bourne’s ground-breaking and contemporary works.

Scottish Ballet would also like to thank Serco Northlink, Caledonian MacBrayne and Lochcarron of Scotland for their support in helping deliver Highland Fling 2018 across Scotland.
