Dance is taking over the BBC with #DancePassion!

Tune in to watch your favourite dance companies from all over the UK in a special BBC celebration of dance, starting from 31 March and leading up to a full day of live streaming on Friday 5 April.

As part of Scottish Ballet's 50th anniversary celebrations, we'll be getting involved in lots of exciting ways:

Monday 1 April

Scottish Ballet Soloist Jamiel Laurence is a budding filmmaker, and this will be the premiere of his latest work celebrating dance in Scotland. Jamiel has worked with professional dancers and community organisations to take you on a journey through the BBC Scotland headquarters, showcasing dance styles from pointe work to Flamenco!

Tuesday 2 April

Discover Scottish Ballet's 50-year history through a special archive project, created in collaboration with the BBC. You'll see gems from the past including memorable performances, as well as revealing some surprising stories.

Wednesday 3 April

We are delighted to release a beautiful new short film on social media, created in collaboration with and featuring Norman Douglas, a dancer living with dementia.

Friday 5 April

For the big day, catch us LIVE on Facebook from the Glasgow dressing rooms of our Spring! tour. You'll meet our dancers as they prepare to go on stage, and get a sense of the party atmosphere as we mark this landmark year.
