Scottish Ballet’s triumphant performance of Episodes as part of the ‘Scottish Ballet dances Balanchine’ Triple Bill was a highlight of the 2005 Edinburgh International Festival and won the Company a coveted Herald Angel Award. This is the only time that Scottish Ballet will have danced this rarely performed, timeless masterpiece from the legendary choreographer outwith the Edinburgh International Festival. Enigmatic, abstract with virtuoso choreography loaded with surprises, Episodes evokes a whole range of emotions and is set to Weber’s striking score that Balanchine described as “filling the air like molecules”.
