The tale of a downtrodden girl turned into a beautiful princess, courtesy of a benevolent godmother and a handsome prince, has made Cinderella one of the most loved stories of all time.
Featuring sumptuous sets and costumes by award-winning designer Antony McDonald, Scottish Ballet's brand new version by celebrated Artistic Director Ashley Page, transports this fairytale to 18th century France ... with a twist!
Ashley Page, who has previously danced and choreographed for the Royal Ballet over a 27-year period, has created Cinderella on Scottish Ballet's dancers. With a style firmly rooted in strong classical technique and an energy that projects this timeless story into the 21st century, Cinderella showcases the Company's sensational musicality, perfect technique and expressive characterisation.
Scottish Ballet Orchestra will perform the vivacious and colourful Cinderella score, which was originally composed by Prokofiev for Bolshoi Ballet in 1944.
