Scottish Ballet’s triumphant performance of Episodes as part of the ‘Scottish Ballet dances Balanchine’ Triple Bill was a highlight of the 2005 Edinburgh International Festival and won the Company a coveted Herald Angel Award. MiddleSexGorge (1990)
Choreography Stephen Petronio

Music – Wire

Pulsating, vigorous and set to a pounding track by seminal punk rock outfit Wire, MiddleSexGorge aims bold moves directly at its audience. A defiant act of outrage created around Petronio and his then partner, Michael Clark, it is as much political as it is a work of art. Fast, fierce and jagged, this is a hedonistic delight.

“Sexy and sensual from the ends of its pointed toes to the tips of its outstretched fingers.” Edinburgh Evening News

“Brazenly articulate steps…phenomenally clever structural tropes.” The Guardian

“The audience adored it. “ The Independent
