Scottish Ballet Open Doors Days 2009 - Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th September
Scottish Ballet is delighted to be taking part in 2009's Open Doors Days. Our full programme of events is as follows:

Both days
In addition to the tours and talks detailed below, there will be a wide range of activities in Scottish Ballet's headquarters throughout both days, including costume, prop and set displays and fun activities for children.

Saturday 19th September
Tours of the building
1pm, 2pm and 3pm.

Scottish Ballet Chief Executive/Executive Producer Cindy Sughrue, Technical Manager George Thomson and Clive Albert from Malcolm Fraser Architects present a detailed tour of the building, giving a fascinating insight into the design of Scottish Ballet's new headquarters.
Gyrotonic
demonstration and talk in fitness suite
1pm, 2pm and 3pm. Booking is required
Gyrotonic instructor Finlay Menzies demonstrates and discusses the expansion system which helps dancers improve their flexibility and aids injury recovering.
Mid and Senior Associates classes in Studio 1

The ballet stars of tomorrow offer the chance to see their weekly training classes.
Dance workshops for children in Education Centre
2pm and 3pm. Booking is required.
For children aged 7 or over with no previous ballet experience.

1pm - Resident Costume Maker Morag McKerrell looks at the designs of Scottish Ballet's gorgeous costumes - please note that this talk is now fully booked
2pm - Artistic Director Ashley Page discusses the three pieces in Scottish Ballet's dazzling Autumn 2009 Season
3pm - Artistic Director Ashley Page delves into the creative process behind Scottish Ballet's magical production of The Nutcracker
