Coryphée

Vassilissa was born in Moscow and trained at the Vienna State Opera Ballet School. She was awarded a scholarship to the Academy of Classical Dance in Monte Carlo where she studied from 2000-2001.

She joined Scottish Ballet in July 2003 and was promoted to Coryphée in August 2008. Vassilissa has danced in Page’s The Nutcracker, Nightswimming into day, 32 Cryptograms, Cinderella (Godmother), Fearful Symmetries, The Sleeping Beauty (The Lilac Fairy, Fairy of Beauty, Belle), Pennies From Heaven and Cheating, Lying, Stealing, Petronio’s MiddleSexGorge and Ride the Beast, Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments, Agon (pas de deux), Episodes and Rubies (solo female), Forsythe’s Artifact Suite and Workwithinwork, Ashton’s Façade and Scènes de Ballet, Robbins' Afternoon of a Faun, Loosmore’s Chasing Ghosts and Lull, Pastor's In Light And Shadow and Romeo and Juliet, Brown’s For M.G.: The Movie, Spink's Petrushka, Darrell’s Othello (Desdemona), Alston's Carmen (Fortune Telling Gypsy) and Meckler/Lopez Ochoa's A Streetcar Named Desire.
