ROMEO & JULIET 2014
.Dance Europe, July 2014 - Kara McLaughlin delivered a more complex Lady Capulet than I could have imagined. She danced beautifully, she appeared to be under her husband's thumb, then she did the feminist thing and came through as a woman secure in her own feelings and judgement; very memorable indeed.
.Northings, 14 December 2010 – Eve Mutso’s stylishly danced (and acted) Stepmother, Owen Thorne’s sad alcoholic father, Kara McLaughlin’s gangling Stepsister and Luke Ahmet’s fawning Equerry deliver nicely judged performances.
.TvBomb, January 2011 – The stepsisters (Kara McLaughlin and Sophie Laplane) are deliciously awful.
.Inverness Courier, 01 February 2011 – The meaty roles of the nasty trio fell to Eve Mutso as the Stepmother and Kara McLaughlin and Sophie Laplane as the stepsisters. They tackled them with obvious relish, mugging in almost pantomime style at the audience and pulling off the deliberately gauche aspects of their choreography in fine style.
THE SLEEPING BEAUTY 2008-2009
.The Stage, 31 December 2008 – Kara McLaughlin evokes Balanchine through Carabosse’s angular movements
ROMEO AND JULIET 2008
.Hi-Arts, 3rd June 2008 – Kara McLaughlin’s portrayal of Lady Capulet is complex and sympathetic, aided by twists of plot that enable deeper exploration of her relationship to Juliet.
.Turriff Advertiser, 23 Feb 2007 – The dancers, especially the ugly stepsisters Kara McLaughlin and Louisa Hassell took to their roles with gusto, making them favourites with the audience.
