Legacies

A lasting legacy to Scotland’s national dance company

Having reached our 40th Anniversary year, Scottish Ballet, your national dance company, is keen to safeguard the company’s future for the next 40 years and beyond.

In order to achieve this long-term security, we have established the Scottish Ballet Endowment Fund, a separate charity that will make grants to Scottish Ballet as the Trustees see fit. This may include the artistic development of a new commission, extended touring, or a capital purchase. However, in order for the Fund to succeed in its aims, we need your help today to make a valuable contribution to the company of tomorrow.

The Endowment Fund will enable supporters of Scottish Ballet to leave a lasting legacy to the company in their Will. Leaving a legacy will enable you to make a difference after your death without affecting your current financial circumstances. You can leave a legacy safe in the knowledge that commitments to your family and friends will have already been met. Your gift can be given in many ways, such as cash, property, shares or land, at a sum you feel you can afford; however much you feel you can leave, you can be assured that Scottish Ballet will be most grateful. Leaving a legacy is a gift that lasts beyond your lifetime and will help to ensure that Scottish Ballet, which has given you pleasure and enjoyment, will continue to inspire people across Scotland and beyond.

Leaving a legacy in your Will is a simple process and we have suggested wording below that you might like to use. However, we would advise that you speak to your Solicitor in the first instance.

Suggested wording for a simple legacy:

To Scottish Ballet’s Endowment Fund (Charity number SCO 40198), Scottish Ballet, Tramway, 25 Albert Drive, Glasgow, G41 2PE, the sum of (INSERT) OR (INSERT)% of the residue of my Estate.

Thank you for your support now and in the future.
