Ride the Beast

Stephen Petronio (2007)

Ride the Beast was created by ground-breaking American choreographer Stephen Petronio.  The work, created for Scottish Ballet and premiered at 2007 Edinburgh International Festival, is a celebration of raw energy and creativity. Untamed and truly unpredictable, Ride The Beast is set to five emblematic tracks from Radiohead (including the worldwide hit: Creep).

What the press said

"The taut, razor-edged precision of the ensembles now packs a sizzlingly hot punch as bodies twist, fly and are caught mid-air at hectic speed."
The Herald

“Tremendous. Thrilling and very stylish, a work that bursts with colour, dynamism and power.”
Scotland on Sunday

“Combining the songs of Radiohead with a group of incredible dancers: for fans of the band, this is a dream comes true. A trio set to an acoustic version of Creep lends the song even more poignancy, with an awkward male crumbling in the face of perfection.”
The Scotsman

“A sensual burst of energy and movement.”
The Stage

“It whips up a frenzy in high-energy dancing that the audience cheered to the rafters.”
“Physically, it’s a knockout.”
Sunday Times

“Sexy and energetic”
The Times
