Scottish Ballet dancers on youtube
4 February 2008
Limor Ziv
dropped in to Scottish Ballet HQ to show us her latest project, Marionettes. Limor has been working with award-winning director Daniel Warren, who also collaborated with Scottish Ballet for his piece Public:Private, to create a short film developed from a series of ‘dance for film’ workshops. Limor Ziv's choreography and the puppet characters Pieretta and Puaro, (danced by Limor and fellow Scottish Ballet dancer Daniel Davidson ) are based on lyrics written by Hebrew poet Leah Goldberg, famously put to music by Achinoam Nini. The project brought dance to a new audience of cinema goers as it was featured as part of Dance:Film07, a programme of Scottish Shorts at the Edinburgh Filmhouse in November, and not forgetting the unsuspecting customers (not extras!) in the Edinburgh supermarket where filming took place!
