ScottishBallet

Summary

The Senior Associate Scheme is designed to supplement the classical training of students in S3, S4 and S5. The scheme is aimed at talented students of approximately Intermediate standard and above. The course is classically based with additional sessions covering contextual subjects such as Pilates, body control work, pointe work, repertoire and contemporary dance.

This programme encourages the development of confident, dedicated and motivated dance students and encompasses not only physical and technical development but also the many psychological issues surrounding a student dancer.

Students are encouraged to fulfill their own potential and their progress is continuously monitored. An annual review takes place towards the end of the academic year when students and parents are invited to discuss the suitability of the programme for each individual with areas of strengths and weaknesses identified. All students must re-audition annually in order to continue with the programme.
