Summary
The Junior Associates course of study includes ballet body conditioning, national dancing and creative movement. During the year students have the opportunity to learn some of Scottish Ballet's repertoire taught by Company dancers. They can also experience the work of other departments involved in each production.
Entry Criteria
Entry criteria The Junior Associate Scheme is aimed at P6 and P7 students. Entry is by annual audition only. Although no previous dance experience is necessary, potential students need to show an aptitude for movement co-ordination a sense of rhythm and lots of personality together with an appropriate physique.
Weekly classes for students within easy reach of Glasgow are held on Tuesdays from 6pm to 8.15pm (for P6 students) and on Thursdays from 6pm to 8.15pm (for P7 students).
Sunday classes for students from further afield are run approximately once a month during term time from 10am to 3.15pm.

How to Apply
Auditions for entry to the scheme in August 2008 will be held on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 May 2008.

Some local authorities offer a 50% subsidy for pupils residing in and attending schools within their area. Pupils at private schools are often not eligible for subsidy dependent on the local policy.
