The Big Dance Pledge Edinburgh
Join Dance Base and hundreds of others to perform your Pledge in Mound Square (next to the National Galleries) on Friday 16 May. Dancing in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle our huge Edinburgh Pledge event will begin with performances of groups who have created a response to the choreography. Your host Chris Stuart-Wilson will lead a fun warmup, we’ll have a quick rehearsal and then, on the firing of Edinburgh Castle’s one o’clock gun, we’ll begin the Pledge performance. This will be a joyous celebration of dance and you’ll be part of a worldwide movement!
To join in you’ll need to learn the Pledge choreography in advance; watch the teaching videos here: http://www.bigdance.org.uk/big-dance-pledge. If you’ve created your own response you can perform that at the same time. Everyone will receive a free t-shirt (and a poncho in case of light rain) and we hope to welcome lots of media so you might spot yourself in the paper or even on TV!
School, community and workplace groups are welcome. Please register to let us know you are coming by filling in the form:
You can also tell us if you’ve created a response to the Pledge and would like to perform it on the day.
