From the 9 – 12 November 2012 Scottish Ballet is visiting Mull with Find Your Feet — a project designed to bring the Company’s activities to participants of all ages and abilities. In each area Scottish Ballet will offer a range of FREE workshops, talks, events and a taster performance by BA Modern Ballet students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. We are also working with a range of local schools and groups

Friday 9th November

Illustrated talk on Scottish Ballet
Aros Hall Tobermory,
1.15pm–2pm
An illustrated talk on the Company looking at repertoire, costumes and music. Lunch, provided by Aros Hall lunch club is available from 12.30pm for £3. The talk is free and you do not need to attend the lunch to attend the talk.

Behind the Scenes
(age 18+)
Bunessan Hall, Bunessan
7pm–8pm
Join Scottish Ballet for a relaxed social evening and hear all about your national ballet company. Using film, costume and images of the dancers our staff will lead an enjoyable evening where you will find out what goes on behind the scenes at Scottish Ballet.

Beginners Ballet Class
(age 16+)
Aros Hall, Tobermory
7pm–8.30pm
This fun and informal class will cover the basics of ballet; gentle technique and repertoire from Scottish Ballet.

Saturday 10th November

Wee Mice
Ages 3-5 and a parent / carer

Wee Mice for parent and child is an enjoyable class where both can engage with games and imaginative play, exploring themes from some of Scottish Ballet’s well loved story ballets such as The Nutcracker, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.
This class encourages confidence, creativity and imagination as well as developing co-ordination and balance. Wee Mice is designed for one adult working together with one child and participants should wear comfortable clothing and take the class in bare feet

First Encounter by Chris Marney
Mull Theatre
7.pm
(running time 75 minutes)
Performed by BA Modern Ballet students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and local groups.
Performance followed by food and a dance céilidh.
Cost of food and dance céilidh - £4 for adults/£2 for children.

Sunday 11th November

Ballet Café
An Tobar
2pm-4pm
Ballet Cafe is a sociable afternoon for adults aged 18 years plus. Participants will take part in a beginner’s ballet class lasting 45 minutes and then hear an illustrated talk on Scottish Ballet whilst enjoying tea and cake. Participants should wear comfortable clothes they can move in and take the class either barefoot or in soft ballet shoes.

(age 16+)

4.30pm-6pm
Creative Dance is an entertaining and energetic class that will get you moving! Come along and learn some new moves and create some of your own.

Film Evening – in partnership with Mull Film Club

Public Private: a fascinating film on Scottish Ballet by Daniel Warren.
The Red Shoes: Directed by Michael Powell
