From the 26 – 29 October 2012 Scottish Ballet is visiting Greenock with Find Your Feet — a project designed to bring the Company’s activities to participants of all ages and abilities. In each area Scottish Ballet will offer a range of FREE workshops, talks, events and a taster performance by BA Modern Ballet students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. We are also working with a range of local schools and groups
Friday 26 October
Performance: First Encounter

Performed by BA Modern Ballet students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. A new piece specially commissioned for the Find Your Feet project — a fast moving and exciting taste of ballet. The performance will also feature pieces from local dance groups. Tickets for the performance are free and are available from Arts Guild Box Offic
Saturday 27th October
Wee mice
(age 3–5 and a parent/carer)
Youth Hall, Westburn Church, Nelson Street, Greenock
10–10.45am and 11–11.45am
Wee Mice for parent and child is an enjoyable class where both can engage with games and imaginative play, exploring themes from some of Scottish Ballet’s well loved story ballets such as The Nutcracker, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.
This class encourages confidence, creativity and imagination as well as developing co-ordination and balance. Wee Mice is designed for one adult working together with one child and participents should wear comfortable clothing and take the class in bare feet

An entertaining and energetic class to get you moving. Learn some new moves and create some of your own.
Sunday 28th October
Ballet Café
(age 18+)
Arts Guild Theatre, Campbell

2–4pm
Ballet Cafe is a sociable afternoon for adults aged 18 years plus. Participents will take part in a beginner’s ballet class lasting 45 minutes and then hear an illustrated talk on Scottish Ballet whilst enjoying tea and cake.Participants should wear comfortable clothes they can move in and take the class either barefoot or in soft ballet shoes.

(age 16+)
Elite Dance Academy, 15a Watt

7–8.30pm
Suitable for beginners this fun and informal class will cover the basics of ballet; gentle technique and repertoire from
Scottish Ballet.
