From the 2 - 5 November 2012 Scottish Ballet is visiting Arran with Find Your Feet — a project designed to bring the Company’s activities to participants of all ages and abilities. In each area Scottish Ballet will offer a range of FREE workshops, talks, events and a taster performance by BA Modern Ballet students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. We are also working with a range of local schools and groups

Friday 2nd November

First Encounter by Chris Marney
Arran High School
7pm onwards.

First Encounter is a new piece specially commissioned for the Find Your Feet project. Performed by BA Modern Ballet students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, it is a fast moving and exciting taste of ballet.
Performance followed by Q&A with the dancers and Scottish Ballet staff.

Saturday 3rd November

Wee Mice
(aged 3-5 and a parent / carer)
KA Campus,
Lamlash
10am-10.45am

Wee Mice for parent and child is an enjoyable class where both can engage with games and imaginative play, exploring themes from some of Scottish Ballet’s well loved story ballets such as The Nutcracker, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.
This class encourages confidence, creativity and imagination as well as developing co-ordination and balance. Wee Mice is designed for one adult working together with one child.

Creative Dance Class
KA Campus,

11am-12.30am (p1 - p3 pupils)
1.30-3pm (p4 - p7 pupils)
1.30-3pm (s1 - s6 pupils)

An entertaining and energetic class to get you moving. Learn some new moves and create some of your own.

Boys only class
(P1 pupils upwards)
KA Campus, Lamlash
10am–12noon

A high energy and physical class just for boys. Learn new moves and have fun creating your own. The class will be led
by a male teacher.

Adult Open Class
(age 16+)
KA Campus, Lamlash
1.30–3pm
Suitable for beginners, this fun and informal class will cover the basics of ballet; gentle technique and repertoire from Scottish Ballet.

Behind-the-Scenes
(age 18+)
Brodick Hall, Brodick
7–9pm

Join Scottish Ballet for a relaxed social evening and hear all about your national ballet company over a glass (or two) of wine. Using films, costumes and images of the Company’s dancers, our staff will lead an enjoyable evening where you will find out what goes on behind the scenes at Scottish Ballet.

Sunday 4th November

Wee Mice

Wee Mice for parent and child is an enjoyable class where both can engage with games and imaginative play, exploring themes from some of Scottish Ballet’s well loved story ballets such as The Nutcracker, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.
This class encourages confidence, creativity and imagination as well as developing co-ordination and balance. Wee Mice is designed for one adult working together with one child and participents should wear comfortable clothing and take the class in bare feet

Ballet Café
(age 18+)
Auchrannie Hotel, Brodick
2–4pm

A friendly and social afternoon for adults. Participants take part in a gentle 45 minute beginner’s ballet class and then listen to an illustrated talk on Scottish Ballet whilstenjoying tea and cakes.

Adult Open Class
(age 16+)
Brodick Hall, Brodick
7-8.30pm

Suitable for beginners, these fun and informal classes will cover the basics of ballet; gentle technique and
repertoire from Scottish Ballet.
