Antony McDonald, the designer, was influenced by fashion designers John Galliano and Vivienne Westwood who both use historical references in their designs. As the designer he had to create designs that set the scene historically and appropriately for a ballet ,whilst taking into account clever references to modern day fashion such as the acid colours (Warhol-esque) that would not have featured in 18th century fashion.
Look at the costumes from Cinderella and research 18th century fashion. Choose a character
